Review of Hostel: Part II (2007) by Jojo E — 13 Sep 2010
A nice twist on the original Hostel movie. The cast is more interesting and the added glimpses into what drives a person to pay to kill are rewarding. Over all, much better rounded than the first movie.
Unfortunately, the ending is worse. Not so much with Beth--although ending with her still in the grasp of the organization is still ambiguous--but with her friends, both of whom are obviously dead, but we don't see much of.
While there is still gore and maiming, it is nowhere near on par with the first Hostel. Which is fine. It is the ending which keeps this from being a higher-rated affair.
