Review of Hostel: Part II (2007) by Liam M — 08 Jan 2016
A poor sequel by anyone's standards. Roth focuses so much on the killers that you end up not caring what happens to the victims, even the characters seem to have limited interest when others go missing.
There is no real build up and I found myself just waiting for the gore to happen. This film is not tense in the slightest - aside perhaps from the very start of the film. The characters are ridiculously shallow and fall into cliché horror movie categories.
I was not expecting much from this film after hearing the consensus on the Internet, but Hostel part II failed even to live up to these lowered expectations.
