Review of Hostage (2005) by Mariano C — 10 Jan 2009
This was a lot better than I expected it to be. normally the hostage situation at the beginning of the film would be enough for a generic action/thriller movie, but then add on top of that his own family being held hostage and it makes the story a lot cooler. visually, I though this movie handles the action really well. some of the camera angles were pretty sweet too (snorri-cam type shots, and cameras mounted off to the sides of vehicles).
I mean in the end, sure its still an action movie, and doesn't go too much deeper than that. but I thought it was step up from your generic action movie.
