Fairly ridiculous entry in the horror genre with Hammer studio mainstays Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing just barely saving this film. The film just destroys any suspense it had going for it by killing off the monster in the first half of the film (it consequently transfers its consciousness to other characters).

And the creature did start killing off characters, I did not care. The film is also poorly shot--even though much of it takes place on a train, it looks like it was shot in regular-sized rooms, and it is hard to understand what's going on in the climax of the film, since the viewer is given such a poor sense of spatial relationships in the setting.

It quite successfully buttressed my disbelief by having the creature's memories imprinted in its blood which characters could observe in a microscope (and who the hell brings a microscope on a train, anyway?).
