Review of Horror Express (1972) by Angelo G — 21 Oct 2016
This is an entertaining, if sometimes uneven movie. Lee and Cushing get to work together onscreen, which is most enjoyable. Lee gets to slay some monsters and Cushing comes equipped with one-liners and charm.
That said, Telly Savalas is under utilized. While he's wonderfully sadistic (par for the course), he gets precious little screen time. The music is also an odd choice. It's dated and has a 70s meets Spain flourish to it.
Not a bad movie, but not as good an adaptation of Who Goes There as The Thing from Another World or John Carpenter's The Thing.
