Review of Horrible Bosses 2 (2014) by Esteban C — 20 Jul 2015
Despite the same numerical score as the original, I enjoyed Horrible Bosses 2 a tad bit more. The film takes us back to the three idiotic geniuses who now have created a revolutionary shower product. In hopes of running a booming business, they take an offer from a wealthy business and his son, only to have it backfire.
For starters, this film is all over the place. I wasn't a fan of the first one all too much, but it at least had a solid plot. This one is filled with so many plot holes and is so scatter shot, which would be fine if it jumped from one to the other.
Acting wise, the returning members still have good chemistry and are a little more funny with the crude material, but it is Chris Pine who really shines in a role that is reminiscent of his Captain Kirk.
..if Kirk got absolutely hammered every night. The film moves pretty briskly, which is wise considering how loose it all is. And when this one ends, all one can hope for is that this is it for these guys.
