As someone who read and loved the book, I was very excited to see this movie. Overall I was very happy with the first half, but it went off the rails in the second half. Major changes to plot points, details and the ending hurt this movie a lot.
The ending came out very "Hollywood", looking for something flashy I feel. As a result the overall theme and message of the story is drastically changed from the source material. I really wanted to like this movie, unfortunately the second half makes that hard.
