Review of Hope and Glory (1987) by Katrine N — 14 Sep 2008
Never dwelling on the horros of war, this semi-autobiographical movie by John Boorman depicts the London blitz as seen through the eyes of a 9-year-old boy. I wasn't completely convinced by the acting and have some misgivings about the editing and pacing og the film.
But the characters are all likeable, and the childhood view of war was an interesting idea: Favourite scene: The deflated dirigible floating downwards in the middle of the main characters' neighbourhood.
