Review of Hoosiers (1986) by Audrius M — 20 Jun 2009
This is a very American movie in that it involves a strong individual who triumphs against the odds, themes that constantly appear in popular American entertainment. It also features an all white basketball team beating a mostly black one in the final game Now that is what I call a miracle! As it is this film is cliche ridden, but well acted and made so it is better than most sports films.
I have a feeling my high school speech coach might have watched this film one too many times. Unfortunately when he tried to be like Hackman it failed.
