As much as I hate the sport of basketball, I LOVE this movie. Arguably the greatest sports movie ever filmed. Director David Anspaugh, actor Gene Hackman and composer Jerry Goldsmith achieve the impossible: take the world's shittiest sport and actually make it compellingly watchable.
This film is for anyone who's ever rooted for the underdog. If you're not cheering by the end of it, check your pulse. You just might be dead.
