Review of Hook (1991) by Adam G — 05 Apr 2013
One of Spielberg's worst. As a kid I enjoyed this picture, particularly seeing Captain Hook played by Dustin Hoffman. With a deadly hook on his arm that is famous in the theatrical trailer. It's a Peter Pan story but this one feels stale and cheesy and boring.
Robin Williams plays the Peter Pan character and it's really awful. I think if Peter Pan was a real character, he would have been quite disappointed in Williams's performance. I was hoping Spielberg would have brought the Indiana Jones flavour mixed with ET into the mix but instead Spielberg doesn't really add anything fun or exciting which left me in wtf moment.
