Review of Honey (2013) by Kevin R — 08 Apr 2016
What makes you think I care about what you want?
Honey Daniels is a dance instructor and choreographer that has no plans to devalue her principles to be successful. She is discovered by a music video director and her career begins to take off...until the director begins falling for her, then things become complicated. Honey will rely on her roots and determination in hopes of becoming successful without doing the things she doesn't want to do...
"Promises don't mean anything.".
"Mine do.".
Bille Woodruff, director of Beauty Shop, Honey 2, A Very Larry Christmas, Bring It On: Fight to the Finish, Addicted, Drumline: A New Beat, and The Perfect Match, delivers Honey. The storyline for this picture is a little cliché but fun to watch unfold. The soundtrack is excellent and the acting fit the characters well. The cast includes Jessica Alba, Mekhi Phifer, Romero Miller, Joy Bryant, and David Moscow.
"I really like your class.".
I randomly came across this on HBOGO recently and decided to watch it. I had never seen this and found it a little cliché with some unique points here and there. Overall, this is an above average addition to the genre that is worth seeing once but I wouldn't add it to my DVD collection.
"I'm going to pretend none of this happened.".
Grade: C+.
