Enjoyable "Shane" variation has the usual Wayne charisma, plus a strong performance from newcomer Geraldine Page. Script tries to make Hondo sympathetic to the Native American way of life, but protracted battle (with dozens of warpainted extras getting shot) undermines this considerably.
