Review of Home Alone: The Holiday Heist (2012) by Jordan G — 10 Dec 2013
This Film Is Different From The Other Movies In The Series, But Sucks But Not As Much As "Home Alone 4". New Script, New Story, New Characters, Same Formula. Finn Baxter & His Family Have Just Moved Into A New House. The Family's New House Is A Target For A Job By A Small Group Of Thieves, Their Plan Was To Steal A Priceless Painting From A Secret Room Before The House Was Sold. This Didn't Happen So Discover That The Family Were Invited To Christmas Party Out Of The Way. They Plan To Break Into The House While The Family Are Gone But Finn & His Big Sister Are Still In The House After An Argument With Their Parents, To Look At This You Wouldn't Think Of It As An Entry In The Home Alone Series, But It Does Borrow Some Small Elements Of The Series, This Should Have Just Been Known As The Holiday Heist, Simply Because Anyone Who Witnessed Home Alone 4 Would Be Put Off. I'm Not Saying This Is A Masterpiece, It's Crap But It's Better Than It's Predecessor & Probably Would Have Got More Viewers. The Question Is Why Malcolm McDowell Agreed To Do This Movie, It's Beneath Him, But In The End It's Still An OK Piece Of TV, Which Is Bound To Keep Children Entertained.
Just Like The Previous Film Everything Was A Disaster, From Script, To Plot, To Acting, To Directing. An Awful Film From Start To Finish.
