Review of Home Alone 3 (1997) by Ben F — 09 Mar 2011
When I was really little, I used to watch this movie all the time. It was one of my favorites. I don't know why...but I really liked it. My parents showed me this movie even before I saw the previous two installments. Anyway, I went back to this movie after a decade of not viewing it and...wow was it pretty bad.
Within the first five minutes of the movie your already wondering to yourself why this was made. Seriously. I think the first two films were enough, but now we have a completely different cast. So for some reason, 20th Century Fox thinks that this movie will appeal to people. Well, they were wrong.
Everybody in the movie is pretty bad. I don't know anyone's name except Scarlet Johanson, and she really didn't do anything. With a horrible script, it's hard to have decent acting.
Anyway the whole movie is what you'd expect. Burglars getting hurt by a young kid, messing up over and over again. It's not as if the substance is bad, it's just that the whole production is not needed. That's why nobody liked this.
"Home Alone 3" simply didn't have to be made. Fox thought that they could get some more bucks by taking a completely different story and slapping the Home Alone logo on it. What turned out was a bad film, with no appeal.
