Review of Home Alone (1990) by David R — 15 Nov 2013
(Movie King Quick Review).
Now this is a true Christmas classic! Story short, it's about a boy named Kevin (Macaulay Culkin) who's accidentally left behind at the house while his extended family goes on a vacation to Paris. Kevin enjoys being alone, until he realizes that family is more important, and uncovers a plot set by "The Wet Bandits" (Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern), who intend to rob his house. Kevin has to defend the family home by setting off booby traps on them.
The film can be unrealistic at times (in reality, these booby traps would likely kill you), but Home Alone is filled with fun comedy (the booby traps are actually very hilarious), some good quality family cheer, a stellar John Williams score, and it's a very enjoyable Christmas classic, a great refresher for anyone who was just tortured by the holiday mess that was Jingle All the Way.
And PS, don't you wish the fake mini gangster movie Angels with Filthy Souls was a real movie?
"Keep the change, you filthy animal!".
