An imperfect, yet classic Christmas film.

Home Alone is the highly successful and beloved family comedy about a young boy named Kevin (Macaulay Culkin) who is accidentally left behind when his family takes off for a vacation in France over the holiday season. Once he realizes they've left him home alone, he learns to fend for himself and, eventually has to protect his house against two bumbling burglars (Joe Pesci, Daniel Stern) who are planning to rob every house in Kevin's suburban Chicago neighborhood. Though the film's slapstick ending may be somewhat violent, Culkin's charming presence helped the film become one of the most successful ever at the time of its release.

You know how you see Christmas posts on Instagram, or any social media sight for that matter? And most of them have the tagline 'Merry Christmas ya filthy animals!'. Yeah well, this is that film! And although largely imperfect, it's a classic holiday film that's stuck around for a while now.

Where'd the days go when Macaulay Culkin was our innocent little Kevin McCallister? Well, he definitely had an interesting performance here. I mean to be fair, this was a pretty slapstick film. All the performances were interesting, over the top, and goofy, but that's what made this film what it is. You don't watch it for that, even though you may find some of their roles 'iconic'.

This film really is ridiculous in the end. Honestly, I don't have much to say about it. But, there's a reason that I got the urge to watch this film around Christmas. And despite STARz network lying to me, I even paid to watch this film and rent it. It's got a nice Christmas feel to it and even though it's not perfect, it's feel good and fun.

In the end, I don't want to spend too much time on this since I have a lot of stuff to write about before the New Year's, but come on, who hasn't watched this film? If you haven't, you can still have a fun time with it.
