Review of Hombre (1967) by Randy H — 22 Jan 2008
Martin Ritt and Paul Newman team together again after collaborating so well on Hud together. This was one of the first main westerns to change the genre up extensively, and give the audience a character that deep down they've always wanted.
There's great dialog, real characters, great locations and a finale that most wouldn't expect in 1967. Also, Richard Boone proves to portray one of the meanest, ugliest bandit/bastards in the genre.
