Review of Holy Rollers (2010) by Robert G — 13 Dec 2010
A great deal of promise but unfortunately no real delivery.
I was highly intrigued by the subject matter of the movie especially with the back round of the director and the actors in the movie I expected a large portrayal of the variations of lifestyle to show the struggle the character would have. Instead we get a muddle plot line that carries no time specifics and could have occurred within the confines of a month if you're not paying attention. The inaccuracy of clothing, customs, dating within the Chassidic world,as well the worst annunciations of Yiddish words I have possible ever heard lend the movie to seem like it's doing nothing more than playing out stereo types.
