Review of Holy Rollers (2010) by Paula B — 26 Jun 2010
An interesting character study about Sam Gold, a Hassidic Jewish teen caught up in the world of drug trafficing (ecstasy). It shows the split between faith and the choices we make to abide by it or turn against it into something sinful.
The movie does have it's ups and downs with how its put together as whole, but it's strong acting by Jesse Eisenberg & Justing Bartha make this a very conceputally worthy view. This is one of those not great, but not terrible Sundance indie drama's, it was pretty good.
