Review of Hollywood Ending (2002) by Jennifer X — 26 May 2008
I have no idea why this movie is always ranked so low with critics. Sure, the casting of Tea Leoni as the female lead was regrettable, but not a huge deal. Sure, Woody has fallen victim to society's predilections for the two-hour film despite the fact that he is marvelous at stuffing a whole life into 80 minutes of celluloid, but even then it lagged very little.
It was laugh-out-loud funny, had a sharp and original plot, and save Tea Leoni was pretty well-casted. In particular the Chinese translator.
