Review of Hollywood Ending (2002) by Theo M — 31 Oct 2009
The movie is called a Hollywood Ending because everything ends well for Woody Allen: he comes to terms with his goth son, he gets back the woman he loves, and the lousy movie he made is much appreciated by French reviewers, so he gets an invitation to shoot another film in France.
The big joke is that Allen just directed an entire movie while he was struck by psychosomatic blindness. This joke carries on so long that it becomes very implausible. The cast of actors in Hollywood Ending isn't as great as usual and the movie is most certainly not Allen's best.
