Review of Holiday Inn (1942) by Sarah G — 07 Dec 2010
I must say, I've never quite seen a film with such amazing dancing. Even compared to break dancing this fantastic rhytm of tap dancing was amazing. I escpecially loves the scene where he was using fire crackers whilst tap dancing. This is a classic all singing- all dancing comedy.
Two broadway actors go there seperate ways to go on to doing different things. One decides to go on doing more dancing with his partner. The other decides to create a club called HOliday Inn which opens only on the Holidays. 15 days a year. From christmas to Lincoln Day. A hard to describe plot but is very entetaining and exciting.
This is a heart warming classic not to be missed. It is filled with beautiful songs, magnificent dancing and some great cmedic moments. Bill Crosby and Fred Astaire play great as the two main characters. One song that grabbed my attention in this film was 'I'm dreaming of a white christmas'. A very touching song escpecially with its reprise near the end of the film. Overall this is a timeless musical comedy and is one to check out.
