Review of Holiday (1975) by Matthew C — 14 Feb 2010
Cary Grant and Katherine Hepburn head a great cast in this charming comedy. Grant is a self-made man who has fallen in love with a wealthy young woman. But will the family approve? This sort of thing just isn't done.
He doesn't know the right people. He's not from the right family. Hepburn plays the troubled, troublesome sister of Grant's love interest, who retreats into a sort of dream world to escape her family's stagnation.
Plenty of great supporting actors drift through various scenes. I found Hepburn especially engaging in this film, with all the vim and vigor of youth yearning to find an outlet. Check it out.
