Review of Hogfather (2007) by James W — 19 Aug 2007
Good production of a book that is by no means easy to adapt. I think I warmed to it because it reminded me of the BBC kids book adaptations they used to do at Christmas. Canny casting choices help and Death is particularly well done (big Dutch guy and Ian Richardson's hollow gravitas).
Central discworld concepts like "Belief powers anthropomorphic personifications" are as elegantly explained as possible, but non-fans may still find themselves struggling to keep up.
