Review of Hoffa (1992) by Lisa T — 16 Sep 2007
This shows the tragic arc of the American Labor Movement from the picket line to the golf course for the executives in the labor movement. Nicholson's performance is A+! Strong and abrasive. I thought it would take me at least the first 10 minutes of the movie to be able to sink into the notion that he was Hoffa.
..but that did not happen. I immediately saw past nicholson and was able to concentrate on the charchter of Hoffa. That's a sign of a great actor! Director Danny Devito did a good job balancing this charachter by giving pleasure to all qualities of Hoffa.
RENT THIS!
