Review of Hobson's Choice (1954) by Keith E — 11 May 2009
Hilarious! Charles Laughton is perfect per usual. John Mills is better than I've ever seen him. A young Prunella Scales shows why Basil Fawlty would have married her in the first place. (sorry, that was random).
David Lean directs one of his few comedies and shows a deft hand for dialog, a bit of slapstick, and a great eye for detail in the turn of the (last) century particulars.
Another great find that goes on my top 1000.
