Review of Hitman (2007) by Bob L — 10 Aug 2010
Adapted from a computer game I've never played. Considering the source material, actually a decent actioner that romps along at a fair pace. Games to movies usually is bad news, and while true that this script makes the characters a bit cardboard, Timothy Olyphant , Dougray Scott, Robert Knepper and Ulrich Thomsen do lend a quality of acting to this script that it doesn't deserve.
The cinematography isn't too shoddy either which, all in all, makes what should be a turkey into something worth watching. I've read reviews that accuse this movie of miscasting, but quite frankly it seems it's either from people who are critical of the actors to begin with, or who have played the game.
Come at this with an open mind and it's not a bad way to fill an hour and a half.
