Review of Hitman (2007) by Justin G — 12 Apr 2012
This movie ALMOST made me change my mind about movies made based on video games. This one starts out in pretty entertaining fashion and Olyphant's nameless hitman character was almost intriguing. Unfortunately though, whoever wrote this script didn't really understand the character (or at least not the one portrayed in the VG).
Hitman is supposed to be a cold hard killer who doesn't care emotionally for anyone. This was all going pretty well, until he pointlessly and instantaneously falls for some chick, and develops an emotional attachment.
What they missed was that the character is based off of one who's remorse revolves around God and faith. In doing so they turned him into the transporter, only making less sense. Olga Kurylenko was VERY hot though, and maybe they were banking on that fact for believability, as far as the hitman falling for her.
Either way, I was pretty disappointed after the way it started.
