Review of Hitler's Children (2011) by Raza S — 04 Jun 2013
Very moving documentary. Most if its in German so be ready to read subtitles. It follows the lives of the children / grand children of some of the Nazi architects of The barbarities perpetuated by The Third Reich. It shows the problems, the psychological, personal and societal issues these individuals have in coming to terms with The Sins of the Forefathers. The most touching scene was the Grandson of Hans Frank meeting a Auschwitz survivor and apologizing.
The one weakness is the documentary is that it shows only the descendants that are apologetic, remorseful and ashamed. It would have been interesting to see the descendants (if any) that are deniers or worse proud of their shameful heritage.
Overall, a moving piece...
