Review of Hitchcock (2012) by Devin R — 08 Apr 2013
I'm sure a more compelling film could have been made out of this given it's subject matter, but as it is, HITCHCOCK is a bit too superficial and one-note for my tastes. Perhaps that's my own fault since I already knew so much about Hitchcock and some of the more fascinating issues surrounding the making of "Psycho", but the story and anecdotes are still mildly amusing, and Scarlett Johansson is well cast as Janet Leigh.
If you're really interested in seeing a great film about a director with quirks struggling to make a picture I'd highly recommend checking out Tim Burton's ED WOOD instead.
