Hopkins as Hitchcock was brilliant, Johansson as Leigh was sublime. The BTS tidbits from the making of Psycho were enthralling. Every moment of Mirren's Alma made up all of the moments that made this uninteresting and slow.
I get that ultimately this is a love story as much as anything else, but it truthfully was the least interesting plot element of the film. Everything else was fantastic.
