Review of History of the World: Part I (1981) by Chris K — 22 Oct 2008

This film had to raise a few controversal points when it was first released but to hell with that, this is a funny romp through our history of mankind as seen through the eyes of Mel Brooks. He has done great comedies and he's still going. Quite recently he has been producing and starring in an animated series of his star wars spoof Spaceballs which is silly but very funny.

Anyway back to the history of the world, Mel explains the origins for mankind starting from Caveman to the french revolution. I love this for the innovation of the gags involved, I mean where else are you going to see the Roman army stopped in their tracks during a chase and incapacitated by a spliff? I wonder when he's gonna get around to doing a sequel.
