Review of Hiroshima Mon Amour (1959) by Andrew T — 29 Jun 2007
Let me get this out of the way: I hate this movie. It's terribly paced and some of the subtitles don't do the dialogue justice. That said, "Hiroshima" is nothing short of ingenious, illuminating chilling issues about pain, identity, and our psychological interpretation of the world around us.
I wish Resnais wouldn't have shot a 90-minute-film on a 60-minute-plot, but the time investment is well worth the vision.
