Review of Hiroshima Mon Amour (1959) by Dayu Z — 15 Jan 2008
Amazing film which I can only call a work of art. Alain Resnais has managed to capture the emotion in true auter style. The images stay with you flowing with the poetical lyricism within its context. A true love story in every sence.
Framed and shot with near perfection and a story so bravely told of a Japanese Man and French Woman falling in love. The film deserved to win the Cannes Film Festival but was unfortunately taken away because of fear of upsetting the US Government with its sensitive subject of the Atomic Bomb on Hiroshima.
