Review of Hiroshima Mon Amour (1959) by Evan K — 27 Jan 2011
I didn't think this was New Wave, most cinema authors theorists don't associate Renais with the New Wave becaue he had nothing to do with the Cahiers da Cinema and was doing his own thing since before the "New Wave" directors had even picked up cameras.
Anyway, this film is unbelievably good and powerful. it overwhelms me and is definetly the best film ever in my opinion. It is melancholy but really makes a point and I can't even say anything else besided if you aren't struck by it then you aren't human anymore.
