Review of Highlander II: The Quickening (1991) by Doug J — 10 Feb 2010
Terrible movie. The acting: bad. The story: dull and uninspired. The tone is so far from the original and the information incongruous. How in the name of hell do MacLeod and Louise just hook up moments after she meets him and he grows younger? Also, Michael Ironside is cool, but Katana is no Kurgan.
The only good things: some of the visuals, the confrontation between MacLeod and Katana on holy ground, the fights were okay and Christopher Lambert and Sean Connery's chemistry. Cheesier than Kraft Cheese & Macaroni.
No wonder they chose to forget this garbage. One of the worst sequels I have ever seen. Virginia Madsen was cute, though.
