Review of Highlander II: The Quickening (1991) by Mark A — 18 Oct 2007
Dear. God. Why. This movie sets the franchise back a thousand years. Literally. Because according to this piece of shit, the Immortals are actually renegades from a militaristic regime on a far-away planet way in the past, where they were mortal.
As punishment for their failed insurrection, they're sent to Earth, which makes them immortal, to battle until one remains. Once that one remains, he can either stay on Earth and die a mortal death, or return to his home, where he would be newly immortal, except that the villains jump the gun and come to Earth, making themselves immortal, and by extension Connor MacLeod, and.
..you know what? This movie is fucking terrible. The Renegade version is better, but even that one is still pretty bad.
