The cult phenomenon holds up pretty well despite having pretty much every it could possibly have against it. 80's cheese? Check! Goofy plot? Check? A Swedish sounding Scotsman and a Scottish sounding Spaniard? Check! Clunky sword fights? Check!
That said, the story itself is clever enough to keep you going, and the thanks to the tight, stylish direction and cinematography cut to a bombastic Queen soundtrack and it's hard not to like this one.
