Review of Highlander (1986) by Joseph C — 28 Dec 2013
Perhaps the LAST original concept movie I know of. An Immortal Scot, Trained by an Egyptian wielding a katana against a clear reference to Russia (cold war) and it still works. The cinematography is beautiful, the score awsome, and sets (outdoor especially) are breath-taking.
One of my favorite movies for the simple fact that the plot is (or was for it's time) SO original. Christopher Lambert conveys the weight of centuries and Clancy Brown made a villian that would be copied for a decade.
