Review of High Sierra (1941) by David B — 08 Sep 2007
Following her success in 'They Drive by Night', Ida Lupino is cast opposite Bogart as a woman who falls in love with Bogie's escaped murderer. The two have real chemistry, the involvement of Bogart with Velma (Joan Leslie), a disabled young girl, has you rooting for the murderer and the screenplay by John Huston shows why he had a reputation as such a fine writer.
