Review of High Sierra (1941) by Nathan L — 25 Jan 2008
Best viewed in context as a crossover crime film of the 1930s and early precursur to Film Noir. Bogart's breakthrough role as a lead demonstrates his credibility as an actor to hold together a quirky plot designed to keep the story moving.
The result is a long tale that gets a little tall by the end.
