Review of High Sierra (1941) by Jarett B — 17 Mar 2008
The story of a bank-robber who's pardoned and plans a new robbery. I liked the plot development. Most of the movie was steady, with Bogart meeting a befriending a poor farmer and falling for his granddaughter.
Then after the robbery the film really picks up, with a terrific car chase and climax. There is plenty of tense moments as well. When Bogart's two broads meet for the first time it's like you could cut the tension with a knife.
