Review of High Sierra (1941) by Amanda C — 21 Feb 2010
Noir in its infancy and Bogart with as close as you will see to a mohawk until Punk is born in the mid 70s.
The pacing of this movie is so fast (for the 40s at least) that it makes your head spin. No wasted dialogue or overindulgent shots. Many present-day directors would do well to take a cue from Raoul Walsh.
