Review of High Anxiety (1977) by John A — 14 Oct 2007
It's depressing that in such a short space of time Mel Brooks could go from the genius of Young Frankenstein to, well, this. It does have it's moments, but you can see the precedents for the lazy referencing found in spoof films today (ooh look, birds gathering! That's a reference to The Birds! And they've taken a crap on him! Take THAT, Hitchcock!).
Still, the rip off of the shower scene from Psycho is quite good.
