I look at spoof films today - Date Movie, Scary Movie (1-4), Epic Movie, etc - and they are no where in the same category as Mel Brooks, in fact, those so-called comedies are out of Brooks's league.
High Anxiety is a tame comedic tribute to the master of suspense Alfred Hitchcock. Brooks implements the Hitchcock movies at the right movie, never overbearing the viewing with every scene.
