Review of High and Low (1933) by Trent J — 03 Feb 2010
Another master piece by Akira Kurosawa, am beginning to become fan of his, his direction, editing and photography make current cinematographers look pale.
This is a gripping tale of intelligent kidnapping and equally intelligent police work. Story telling is superb, very logical - no cliches whatsoever.
Akira Kurosawa handles camera angles very well. The way scenes are composed, way characters move into scene and panning of camera make his movies stand out.
Watch this movie if you love suspense with substance.
