Average thriller, with enough red-herrings to throw you off the scent, even though the ending is something of the obvious.
The Sixth Sense was done better.
DeNiro plays the character well, but there's an air of Jack Nicholson's character from The Shining at the end. Dakota Fanning annoys in parts, but copes with a difficult character for a child to play.
Worth a watch on Special Edition DVD, where you get a choice of 4 different endings (personally I think the 'Emily's Fate' ending is the best).
