Review of Hidden Figures (2016) by Jamesl — 12 Feb 2017

This is just an enjoyable feel good film that does not deserve an Oscar nomination for Best Picture. It is enjoyable and you do learn something. However, the rough edges are scrubbed down and the film is sanitized.

I wonder if this is done so that more white audiences will feel comfortable. The film is predictable and is a color by numbers effort. That said, I enjoyed it but never felt challenged or unsure of where it was taking me.
