Review of Hidden Figures (2016) by Evan K — 24 Feb 2017
This movie is unexpectedly much better than just a politically correct movie. Being female minority is absolutely very difficult. It often means you have to make tremendous effort to get what an average person taken for granted.
What makes it more difficult is that who isn't in your shoe may thought you were Cinderella got your lucky day. Sometimes you even second thought that you were imagining the pain until the hard fact finally hits you.
I love the positive attitude of the movie. The characters are hard working and making changes instead of sitting back and complaining. History does not progress to the way you want by itself. You have to make an effort yourself to expect a change, even baby steps.
History gets backwards sometimes, but will move forward eventually. The hidden figures will not always be hidden, and whoever makes it happen should be proud of themselves.
